And since this has evolved into one of my favorite shows, I'm really glad I was. I think the show got much better about relating to the non-geek. Case in point: my wife has come to enjoy it quite a bit. When we sit down to go through all the stuff built up on the DVR, it's consistently one of the first shows we catch up on. Furthermore, the character of Sheldon is so outlandish that you can't help but laugh at him, geek or not. He steals the show. Thanks for the post! Nice to know someone out there is reading this. Yeah, some movies just plain suck: bad plot, poorly written, obvious effects, shitty acting, crappy filming. The reasons are endless. But on the other hand no one thing really ruins a whole movie unless it is honestly critical to it. Let us look at the legions of people who were talking about the second Matrix movie from the moment the first one came out and ended up being disappointed by it. What did they expect, the freaking Wachowski brothers to be reading their forum posts and taking their theories to heart? They built up so much anticipation for it only to have their fantasies let down by reality...even if the reality is the reality of a fantasy. :) I shudder to think what these people are like in the bedroom.
